You can THRIVE in your postpartum life, you just have to understand what’s going on and plan for it.
We’re Courtney and Katie, an OBGYN and Midwife team dedicated to helping parents have an informed and supported postpartum life. In this course you’ll learn from two postpartum experts exactly what will happen postpartum and how to be prepared!
Before we get started, we’d like to tell you about what P.U.S.H. means.
P.U.S.H stands for postpartum understanding, support, and health. By combining our unique skill sets, we give parents education, options, and support to help them make the right decisions for themselves and their families through the postpartum period.
HELLO! I’M KATIE DANIELSON, CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIFE.
I was born and raised in Minnesota and relocated to Colorado in 2018 with my partner Pete and our four kids. Prior to becoming a midwife, I wore many hats as a registered nurse, with stints in home care, on the medical-surgical unit, on the labor and delivery and postpartum unit, as a childbirth educator and a self-proclaimed birth junkie.
During this time, I noticed a shift in the way that I cared for people, focusing more on being with them, and helping to ensure their labor and birth experiences were what they desired. Having four children of my own, I understand the strong connection between birth empowerment and postpartum mental health.
HI, I’M DR. COURTNEY AMERIN, D.O.
I am a Board Certified OBGYN who was born and raised in Colorado.
During residency training, it became obvious to me that, though the current medical system did a good job supporting patients in the pregnancy period, the postpartum period was a vastly different story. These new parents would come in saying they felt terrified leaving the hospital, knowing very little about what was happening to them physically, emotionally, or spiritually. We need a change, a revolution. I hope to provide a resource for new parents to help them navigate this magical time in their lives feeling educated and confident about their new roles and their new child.
